【 摘 要 】
This study is a re-evaluation of the micromechanics of twinning in an Fe-15Mn-2Al-2Si-0.7C twinning induced plasticity (TWIP) steel first published by Rahman et al. (Mater. Sci. Eng. A 635 (2015) pp. 133-142). The original study comprised a combination of experimental results from uniaxial tensile loading coupled with in-situ synchrotron X-ray diffraction and elasto-plastic self-consistent modelling. This paper re-models the original in-situ tensile loading experiment and re-evaluates the concept of twinning (occurring) before macroscopic plastic deformation (begins) proposed in the original study. Here we provide a further discussion on the initiation and relative extent of deformation twinning and the evolution of crystallographic textures in TWIP steels. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V.
