【 摘 要 】

A bandwidth blocking occurs due to bandwidth fragmentation in an elastic optical network, which arises from setting up and tearing down of lightpaths. An appropriate routing and spectrum allocation (RSA) approach can reduce this blocking. RSA performs under two allocation rules, which are continuous connection and consecutive slots. A slicing-and-stitching technology excludes the second rule by splitting an optical signal into spectrum components using slicers. Adopting slicers for all nodes is costly. This paper proposes EON with limited number of slicers. A set of nodes with slicers is determined. The pattern of slicers to achieve low bandwidth blocking is investigated.& COPY; 2022 The Authors.
