【 摘 要 】
Many mechanisms have been proposed to explain the high harmonic fast wave edge losses in the National Spherical Torus Experiment (NSTX) (Perkinset al2012 Phys . Rev. Lett.109045001). Here, we discuss a newly discovered edge loss mechanism (Tierenset al2021Plasma Phys. Control. Fusion64035001) which involves the resonant excitation of surface waves on filaments. We show that this edge loss mechanism can explain the main parameter dependencies observed in NSTX experiments.
