【 摘 要 】

Repairing bone defect, particularly criticalsize bone defect, is still a challenge in clinicalpractice and is more demanding in the elderlypopulation. For bone defect repair, variousbiomaterials have been developed and used. However, the understanding of the mechanism of biomaterial-induced osteogenesisis still poor. Meanwhile, to enhance thesebiomaterials’ efficiency on osteogenesis, it isvital to reveal the interaction between bonecells and these biomaterials, as well as themolecular cascades in cells after biomaterialimplantation. Therefore, abundant in vitroand in vivo studies have been conducted.Currently, in vitro, some osteosarcoma (OS)cells/cell lines such as MG-63, Saos2, andU2OS are used to test the performance ofvarious bone substitutes and to unveil therelevant molecular mechanism of boneregeneration.1-5 These cells can express someosteogenetic markers (RUNX2, SP7, ALP, etc.)and formulate calcified nodules in extracellular matrix (ECM), which confers the term‘osteoblast-like cells’ on them.
