【 摘 要 】

The copper IUD is an intrauterine device that acts mechanically and chemically to prevent fertilization of the ovum in the mother's womb. In this work, electrochemical methods were used to study the accelerated corrosion of the Cu 380A T in uterine mucosa in a thin film cell, the corrosive attack was analyzed with scanning electron microscopy, the corrosion products by EDS, and the half-life of T Cu-380A in the simulated maternal uterus was calculated, finding that the half-life of the copper IUD is approximately 10 years and the corrosion products formed are CuO, Cu2O, phosphates, Cu2 S, CaCO3 and copper hydroxide (Cu (OH )2) among others.
