Cardiovascular diseases are the principal cause of death worldwide. The potentially seriousadverse effects of therapeutic drugs lead to growing awareness of the role of herbal medicine in thetreatment of cardiovascular diseases. Herbal medicine has been widely used in many countries. Thisreview will cover the plants with vascular, hypotensive, cardioprotective, antiarrhythmic, hypolipidemic,hemostatic, fibrinolytic and anticoagulant effects.
