【 摘 要 】
An individual in their 20s presented to our traumacenter via flight transfer from an outside hospitalafter sustaining multisystem trauma as a helmetedmotorcyclist. The patient arrived intubated withtwo right-sided chest tubes and one left-sided chesttube. Clinical exam identified flail chest and flailsternum, right pneumothorax with right pneumomediastinum, and extensive subcutaneous emphysema (see figure 1). The patient’s persistent hypoxiaprompted bedside bronchoscopy, which revealed a25% circumferential tear in the right middle lobebronchus proximal to takeoff.
