In healthcare, quality improvement (QI)aims to improve patient outcomes and fightinefficiencies.1 2 Inefficiency is associated withlimited access to care and premature death.3QI is not a costless endeavour,1 so healthcareproviders and decision-makers must quantifyboth potential health and economic impactsthat result from QI projects.
