Specific heat data for the quasi-one-dimensional quantum magnet copper benzoate [Cu(C6D5COO)(2). 3D(2)O] is analyzed in the framework of an effective low-energy description in terms of a sine-Gordon theory. [S0163-1829(99)07521-9].
