【 摘 要 】

Background: In Ayurvedic therapeutics, Manahshila (Realgar, As2S3) is widely utilized drug since the Samhita period.Only few researches however have been carried out on its safety and efficacy. Present work aims to review published casestudies and clinical trials on formulations containing Manahshila and to see its safety and efficacy. Materials & Method:Published Case studies and Clinical trials on Manahshila (Realgar) and compound formulations containing it were reviewedthrough various search engines and database like Google, Google scholar, Yahoo, PubMed etc. Results: Total 15 publishedresearch articles were reviewed including four case studies, ten clinical trials on formulations containing Manahshilaand one clinical trial on Ardraka shodhita Mananhshila. Conclusion: reviewed researches on formulations containingManahshila suggest that Manahshila and its containing formulations are safe and effective in different dosage form intreating different diseases conditions.
