【 摘 要 】
In this paper, a general framework of the reduced differential transformation method (RDTM) is presented for solving the Kawahara equation. The RDTM does not require any discretization, linearization or small perturbations and therefore reduces significantly the numerical computation. The approximate analytical solution of the equation is calculated in the form of a series with easily computable components. Using RDTM creates a sequence which tends to the exact solution of the problem. Two test problems are discussed to illustrate the effectiveness and the performance of the proposed method in comparison with the exact solution. Finally, comparison of the proposed method is also made with the variational iterative method (VIM). We found that the RDTM is better than IVM.
