【 摘 要 】

Based on the Alpha Power Transformation (APT) method, which is applying by adding an extra parameter or more to a standard distribution to obtain more flexible new families of the distributions, Alpha-Power Lomax distribution (APTLOMAX) is introduced in this paper. The new distribution is obtained by adding one extra parameter to Lomax distribution (LD). Some statistical properties of the introduced models are studied. To obtain the estimators of the parameters, the maximum likelihood method of estimation is used. Two real data sets have been applied and the obtained results provide that the new model outperforms a better fit than the other compared distributions.
