【 摘 要 】

This article analyzes the space of the cave described in the work “Vila dos Confins” (1974) written by Mario Palmerio. It also analyzes the way that Father Sommer, along with his fellows, travels in search of this cave. For this analysis, it will be used the Topoanalysis methodology. The spaces in which the religious man pursues in the hunt of the jaguar as well as the place where he corners and kills the Jaguarana provide a rich set of spatial representations entrenched with meaning effects. The Heath of Confins leads the actions and events described in the plot in order to have an effect on the actions of the characters. Theoretical studies of Bachelard (2013), Borges Filho (2007), among others, will provide a better understanding regarding the characteristics of space in this literary work.
