【 摘 要 】

This contribution encompasses a preliminary description of the unpublished source on Antiochian Church history the «Mikron Biblion» by Nicon of the Black Mount (around 1025 – after 1100). Nicon of the Black Mount (named after the Black Mount — the monastic centre next to Antioch) was one of the most prominent byzantine canon-ists of the XI century who left a valuable heritage of large-scale ascetic and canonical works which remain still unpublished in full. The signifi cance of the «Mikron Biblion» lies in thorough elaboration of the issues related to canon law, primarily the one of the ecclesiastical oikonomia. The fi rst part of the article tells about Nicon’s life and his lite rary activities, it contains brief information about his works «Interpretations of the Lord’s Commandments» (the so called «Pandectae») and the «Tacticon». In the second part of this study we give a detailed thematic analysis of the «Micron Biblion» with a full refe rence to the sources used
