Application of the health education program based on evaluation criteria of knowledge-attitude-behavior model for patients with knee osteoarthritis

【 摘 要 】

ObjectiveTo investigate the feasibility and reliability of the health education program based on evaluation criteria of knowledge-attitude-behavior model for patients with knee osteoarthritis. MethodsTotally 160 hospitalized patients with knee osteoarthritis were randomly divided into the intervention group(n=80) and the control group(n=80). The control group received routine health education during hospitalization, and intervention group received a health education program based on standard evaluation criteria of knowledge-attitude-behavior model. A self-made health education scale was used to evaluate patients' knowledge, attitude and behavior, and Short Form 36 (SF-36) Health Survey questionnaire was used to compare the quality of life between two groups. ResultsThe scores of knowledge, attitude and behavior assessment in the intervention group were higher than those in the control group (P＜0. 01). Scores of Physical Function domain, Physical Role domain, Role Emotional domain in the intervention group were higher than those in the control group (P＜0. 05). ConclusionThe health education program based on standard evaluation criteria of knowledge-attitude-behavior model is feasible and reliable in quality evaluation and health education for patients with knee osteoarthritis.
