【 摘 要 】

During his lifetime, Alfred Marshall participated in debates surrounding two wars involving Britain—the Boer War (1899-1902) in South Africa, and World War I. Reflections and commentaries on these two conflicts are widespread in Marshall’s correspondence and writings. The aim of this article is to provide a synthetic view of how Marshall engaged—rather carefully—into reflections about economics in relation with War issues.
