【 摘 要 】
Healthy skin is an essential requirement to lead a healthy life. Due to burn, non-healing cuts, accidents and deep wounds, one requires rapid treatment of skin. Traditionally, the treatment of skin injury is done through transplants, which comes from donors or the patient body. 3D bioprinting is an innovative technology that can easily create skin grafts for the patient in lesser time and cost. Relevant research articles from reputed journals on 3D bioprinting/3D printing for skin printing are studied and identified the significant benefits, capabilities and applications. 3D bioprinting easily creates skin using different biomaterials and cells in lesser time and cost. It is used to create functional tissue which can perform required functions. This paper describes the difference between 3D printing and 3D bioprinting. The paper discusses the major benefits and limitations of 3D bioprinting. It also discusses seven essential requirements for bioink used for this technology. Further, this paper shows diagrammatically the steps involved in skin printing by using 3D bioprinting. Finally, the paper identifies nine significant applications of 3D bioprinting for the printing of skin. This technology provides disruptive innovation to change the way of treatment and surgery. Scientists are continuously focussing on constructing functional skin tissue. 3D bioprinting can quickly fabricate skin tissue which can help to heals severe skin disease and burn patients. This technology improves the production process of the covering skin, which covers the entire burn bound. Different scanning technologies create missing skin maps and directly printed the required area using 3D bioprinters. It enables an effective growth mechanism using stem cells. This technology can create skin transplants as per the required shape and size, which is suitable for a patient's injury.
