【 摘 要 】
Myrmecophyly is best documented amongtropical epiphytes, and myrmecotrophy occurs especially amongdomatia-formingplants. We report the case of Polytaeniumcajenense with "external" domatia and its use by the same symbiont ant as its hostCordia nodosa. This case is interpreted as the result of stochastic events and theirrelations to pre-existing adaptations of all species involved.
