【 摘 要 】

A thorough investigation of the three fundamental concepts of the Pure Visibility School - forms of vision, artistic intention, and pure vision - demands a deeper consideration of its epistemological premises, which scholars of the so-called Warburg School roundly criticized in the first half of the 20th century. A review of the theoretical debate surrounding the lines of thinking of both schools will enable us to better understand the essential issues on which" cultural history" is based and let us grasp art in our days.
