Building a culture of peace from the university environment: actors and institutions. The Colombia case

【 摘 要 】

Peace Studies have taken special interest in international ambit, due to indiscriminate violence escalation in every form, which affects everybody no matter what gender, age, race, religion or socioeconomic conditions. With this scenario, the alternative is building a culture of peace. In the education sphere, all the universities are agencies that should play an active role in this process. This work presents an investigations revision about peace culture in the university environment in Colombia published in the last decade, particularly those which the main target is identifying the social representatives of university students in relation with the peace culture and how to build it, as well as what is the role that the university plays in the peace process. This becomes a contribution to the field of peace studies and for students and academics interested in this field of study. In order to achieve this, we analyzed those document releases, from both quality and quantity point of view by setting four ranks: methodology and technics, theory references, project origin, subjects of studies and findings. The result of the analysis focused on how students distinguish the university and the peace as interacting elements.
