【 摘 要 】

This article focuses on the changes that have appeared in contemporary Uruguayan literature in light of migration issues. Since the 1960s, second and third generation immigrant writers have been questioning their origins. In the 70s and 80s, the themes of exile and migration were often addressed in literature, as shown in M. Benedetti’s works. The article finally focuses on two recent novels depicting new types of migration: Frankfurt. Cruce de caminos, by Ana Vidal and Yugoslavia, by Matías Núñez. Both reflect on new dynamics: nomadism, deterritorialization, reterritorialization. Through the experience of the characters in these novels, who have settled in the United States or Germany, the recurring question of Uruguayan identity emerges.
