【 摘 要 】

The paper discusses modern technological approaches and Internet concepts that are significantly and rapidly changing the view of the global business world. The paradigm of sustainable development and economic efficiency is significantly supported and facilitated by technology, which, obviously, changes the way we perceive modern software industry. The concept of ASP (Application Service Provider) model, as a state of the art software achievement, is analyzed through its evolution, comparative advantages and prospects and then through the model of software services. Network aspects, however, are rapidly expanding their dominance and a new model is already being implemented, which could compete with the ASP model - 'Cloud Computing'. Due to the significance of these two models, which are often referred to as new software products with overlapping or similar properties, we will analyze the benefits of their implementation but also point to the possible problems and some open issues.
