【 摘 要 】
Permanent pacemaker implantation procedure can be associated with a number of complications. These may be related to the venous puncture, lead placement or device infection. Development of Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy after permanent pacemaker implantation is not only rare and unusual but also quite an unanticipated complication. We encountered this complication in a peri-menopausal lady who underwent an otherwise uncomplicated permanent pacemaker implantation for symptomatic complete heart block. She manifested symptoms within 24 hours after the procedure and the diagnosis was confirmed by typical echocardiographic findings and normal coronary angiography. Her course was further complicated by the development of left ventricular thrombus formation. She was treated conservatively including anti-coagulant therapy and showed signs of near complete resolution within two weeks after the onset.
