【 摘 要 】

The article presents data on Iberian participation in the crusades; on the activities of Iberian clerg y and nobles in the Frankish Kingdom of Jerusalem; and on the settling down of Iberian commoners in its towns and villages. Information on pilgrimage from Iberia to the Holy Land and vice versa, and on the numerous Iberian possessions on the Church of the Holy Sepulchre is also presented. These possessions may have been granted to this church in the wake of supplications from Jerusalem for help and donations. The relations between the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem and the church of Santiago de Compostela appear to have been close, yet devoid of competition and rivalry.
