【 摘 要 】

From autosubsistence to exchange economy in agriculture. A very long way. The case of Burundi. By the increasing of population pressure on agricultural lands, equilibrium between resources and basic needs is getting impaired especially in production systems based on autosubsistence. Such an equilibrium keeps on being but at the expense of a progressive deterioration of the physical environment ; it means an unescapable decreasing of the soil fertility. This bad effect can be reduced by promoting exchanges among regions where crops patterns can be better in agreement with ecosystems.
