Currently, the departments of cinema and the media are very with the mode in South Korea. Indeed, their teaching finds a development without precedents. That is undoubtedly explained by the economic interests that this sector generates, from where the investments of the chaebols (Samsung, Daewoo, SK at the beginning of the years 1990) which restructured in a vertical way all the sectors of film industry : financing, production, diffusion, distribution, etc But it are not all. To seize the Korean passion for the films, K-pop, televisual series (not that the “Cinderella story”), live performances, that the international press summarizes under the expression Korean Wave. It would be necessary to traverse the history of the cinema in Korea before and after Japanese colonization, that following during the dictatorship marked by a very narrow censure, liberalization at the end of years 1980 of the media, the political and cultural turning of the end of 1990. While proposing some elements of this history, this text presents the challenges of the teaching of the cinema and the media after the years 1990, in particular through the programs of the B.A. to the PhD in the universities general practitioners, like those of the specialized universities. It is the result of an investigation conducted between September and December 2013 near the Korean universities. The data are drawn at the same time from the questionnaire carried out for this purpose, of the elements located in the articles published on the sites or the guides of the studies of each university, of the scattered elements drawn from general works on education (in Korean, French, Italian and English), of specific articles on the history of South Korea, of furnished information by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEST), as of the comments provided by many blogs Internet because the Korean system of education seems to impassion the Net surfers.
