Backlands as magic and tragedy childhood represented in Guimarães Rosa and Miguel Torga tales

【 摘 要 】

By this article we intend to establish the connection between brazilian writer Guimarães Rosa work and portuguese Miguel Torga’s work. They are both twentieth century writers. This articles is based on critical studies on both novelists works as the studies of Walnice Nogueira Galvão, Antonio Candido, Benedito Nunes, Massaud Moisés, Cid Seixas and so on. As will be shown throughout this article, their studies present regionalism and universalism’s understanding so remarkable on both writers. Through intertextual analysis within the tales “A menina de lá” and “O cavaquinho” we will try make clear how childcharacters are part of distinguish childhood’s universes. Thus, we intend collate these two tales, show what is common and what is noton both, and finally compare subjects and proceedings common to both writers.
