【 摘 要 】

The present paper contributes to gen­der history by examining the Diario Odiel as an “agent of socialization” revealing the model of womanhood dominant during the first part of the Franco regime. The study also casts light on other, related strat­egies adopted by the Franco regime, and on the lives of women at the time. The study analyzes in depth the ideology of the National Movement with regard to wom­en, and the role assigned to women on the basis of the construction and perpetuation of the Caudillo’s personal dictatorship.
