【 摘 要 】

The author of the article undertakes an eff ort to formulate a defi nition of theology that could take account of all key positions of that kind of activity — scientifi c as well as spiritual. As a necessary feedforward goes a short survey of the existing defi nitions of theology for today that come from very diff erent confessional and sciential traditions. The main preferences for the definition of theology under scrutiny are the following: the fundamental sources of theology (Scripture, Tradition, Liturgy); the general instruments or operations (cognitive, communicative, explicative); the characteristics of theological structure (rationality, spirituality); the universal theological method (subalternatio, attribution, hermeneutical correlation)
