Nonvolatile phase-change materials color display designed by evolutionary search

【 摘 要 】

Switching color dynamically becomes urgent in the field of display, numerous researches have been carried out to actualize controllable structural colors. However, shape freedom has rarely been explored in existing studies. Here we explore the relationship between grating shape and reflection spectrum by search algorithm, and designed structures can reflect colors dynamically by using Ge2Sb2Te5(GST) as phase-change materials(PCMs) layer. Numerical results establish that 36.4% sRGB color space can be obtained when GST in the crystalline state, after the state is switched to amorphous, reflection colors changed evidently, it is demonstrated that the chromatic aberration(ΔE) of fundamental colors can reached 23.39, 13.77 and 35.42, respectively.
