【 摘 要 】

The paper is devoted to the distribution of train tickets among potential passengers inWestern Siberia. The author focuses on ticket prices, ways of buying them, technology of serving the potential passengers while selling tickets. These questions are related to the state of the material base of society and social policy, the “light” and “shadow” parts of the Soviet reality. The paper argues the dependence between availability of tickets and the state of social stability. The attention is given to the contradictory influence of ticket sales system on railway transport of theUSSR.
