【 摘 要 】

The article deals with a number of particular and very signifi cant questions relating to the patristic teaching on Matrimony: is it possible to consider the life of Adam and Eve in the Eden before the Fall to be dwelling in Matrimony? Is the Matrimony just a means given to the man by God because of the Fall for continuation of mankind’s generations, or it has independent and everlasting spiritual value? How do orthodox Matrimony and Christian promises of the Virginity correlate with each other? Has the orthodox Matrimony executed on the earth the eschatological perspective of self-existence, or it is just a temporary terrestrial union? This article looks for the decisions concerning these and some other questions in the heritage of eastern church fathers
