【 摘 要 】
There is a real requirement for greater interaction between children and the digital library which could be fulfilled by a good user interface. This study focuses upon web design principles and implements adaptive elements in the interface of the children’s digital library. The design method used is participatory, i.e. children are actively involved as design partners. This design process yields a prototype interface version with hypermedia adaptive features and was tested with 10 children. Analysis from the testing finds that features of the functions and interface layoutneedtobeimprovedbasedonMalaysianchildren’sutilizationcontext.Aredesignedinterface was conducted iteratively by testing 20 respondents to verify refined adaptive elements. The final analysis proves that children’stendencyandinterestareincreasedthroughadaptivefeaturesresultinginhigher digitallibrary utilization
