【 摘 要 】

A fuzzy logic based digital relay has been designed inorder to protect power system networks for reliable operation.A prototype model of the relay has been established and tested in a laboratory environment.The relay designed has multi-functional behavior so that it gives information not only existence the type of fault but also the type, location, and duration of the faults.Some additional functions can also be included in the relay structure.The performance of the relay for detecting faults, type of faults, and the location has been tested and results are given in this paper.
