【 摘 要 】

The present article aims to carry through a study involving the images and the tourism. It will be a long, elaborate; however efficient process, focused on the relationship between landscape and tourism. The analysis starts in the city of Ilhéus, in the south of Bahia State, with the postcards sold in its historical centre. The objective is to find out what these cards, products so closely connected to the tourist sector, reveal about the city. The reasoning here is supported by the ideas of Sontag (2004), Kossoy (1999 and 2001), Gastal (2005), Serrano (2000), Joly (2005) and others.
