【 摘 要 】

This essay tries to draw up a quick overview of Moratín’s comedy historical context, highlighting the uncertainty in which lived many on their compatriots; they couldn’t believe how was sinking a political system that, ten or twelve years before, seemed solid. They also received another change not least, the transformation of the individual and collective values that, somehow, the play approaches of friendly way. The generation that formed the audience not only had the option to choose husband, but also to choose a profession, a hobby, a kind of religiosity, and also for the first time, a political trend. Through various specific topics, –the reactions to the defeat of Trafalgar, personal resentments, marital choices…–, the difficulties and contradictions of a critical juncture are revealed.
