【 摘 要 】

Space diversity using antenna array is a promising technique to combat fading and enhance signal quality. In this paper we investigate the performance of a single hop CDMA wireless sensor network employing space diversity at sink. We present a framework to evaluate the performance of such network in terms of outage, bit error rate (BER), and energy consumption for successful delivery of fixed length packet in presence of large scale fading. Two kinds of interference namely multiple access interference (MAI) and node interference (NI) are considered and an infinite automatic repeat request (ARQ) is assumed for successful delivery of packetized data between source and sink via single hop. The effects of node density, correlation amongst signal and interferers, power control error, processing gain, and space diversity on overall performance in terms of outage, and energy consumption are investigated. Further we evaluate the sink capacity which is the maximum number sensor nodes located within one hop layer of sink and concurrently transmitting to it while maintaining a BER threshold. The impact of node interferers and antenna diversity on the sink capacity is also indicated.
