【 摘 要 】

Supra-regional partnerships between metropolitan and rural areas are seen as an approach to promote growth and innovation. They should also give new stimulation to the development of regional governance. In this paper some expectations concerning supra-regional partnerships are examined regarding the tasks of spatial development policy. The paper is based on results of an analysis of demonstration projects of supra-regional partnerships. It shows some prospects of supra-regional partnerships but also its requirements and constraints.
