【 摘 要 】

Apopulationofhygrophyticmoss Orthotrichum spruceiMont. was investigated insituin oneoftwo distributionareasin Turkey.The target species wasobserved forabout15monthstodeterminethe populationdynamics inÇineRiverValleywhichwas the firstrecordedlocality. Thesehygrophytic species havedeveloped an adaptation mechanism to regenerate and expandthepopulation on LiquidambarorientalisMill.and Platanus orientalisL.trunkswhichexposedtorepetetivefloods. To describethebiologicaladaptationswhichrelies on thefactofdecreaseandincreaseofthepopulation size, invitro/ ex situexperimentswere carried and gemmae production ability that wasnot known before was observed. Propagation by means of fragmentation that is common among mosses was also observed inthespecies. ThepresentstudyisveryimportantbeingthefirststudyonthebiologyofTurkish bryophytes.
