【 摘 要 】

The article focuses on the role of state institutions of developed countries in the process of building of information society. The main legal processes and the specifics of public policy ensuring implementation of information and computer technologies in economic and socio-cultural spheres are considered. Importance of state support and supervision of information society development in Ukraine is stressed, pressing need for developing and implementing the state information policy strategy and legislative support to ensure the functioning of an information society in Ukraine is stated.
