【 摘 要 】

Francisco Ayala's Life and Works are subject to the dual influence, two crucial facts, such as, first, Exile, and, later, the Spanish Transition. Interaction between Life and Works demonstrates that both are inseparable. However, the question arises, in case of Francisco Ayala as in so many others, which one should prevail: Life, considered something accidental, even ephemeral; or, on the contrary, Works, that become substantial because Works remain. Works are, inshort, what prevail at last.
