【 摘 要 】

The present study concentrates on a bold attemt of shedding light on an issue that has not been studied indepth in cantemirology – anaysis of the relationship between two prominent politicians of the 18th century – the rulers of the Moldovan and Romanian Countries, Dimitrie Kantemir and Konstantin Brankoveanu. Based on new archival documents, along with documental publications and special studies, the author attemts to fill in the gaps and eliminate inconsistencies that are ocasionaly unprecedente in publications dedicated to their relations. Moreover, there was an attmpt of answering the question of – how this relationship can be characterized – on enmity or rather rivalry.
