The role of Pumilio2 in central nervous system

【 摘 要 】

Pumilio2 (Pum2) is one of the newly discovered transcription regulatory factorsin recent years, which exhibits similar function to microRNA (miRNA). Pumilio2hinders the formation of translation initiation complexes and represses targetgene expression from the combination of its specific structure domain with mRNA.Recent studies suggest that Pumilio2 is closely related to the morphogenesis andfunction of central nervous system. The different expression levels of Pumilio2are involved in various biological processes of central nervous system diseases.This article mainly reviews the research progress of Pumilio2 and its role incentral nervous system.
