【 摘 要 】

This paper studies the various ways in which the twenty-two bishops of Plasencia were appointed between the end of the 12th century and the end of the 15th century. The study shows what little say the chapter of the cathedral had in the appointment of bishops, how the Crown attempted to appoint bishops who would be loyal to the monarchy, and, above all, the important role played by the Pope in the appointment of bishops to this diocese in Extremadura.
