【 摘 要 】

O presente ensaio pretende historiar certa tendência da recepção crítica mais recente de Iracema (1865) a centralizar o foco do debate em torno das relações entre mito e história. Também pretende definir um posicionamento perante a discussão, endossando ou questionando algumas das hipóteses inventariadas com argumentos que possam contribuir para o avanço do debate.
The essay intends to analyze the tendency of the recent critical reception of Iracema (1865) to centralize interpretations on the relations between myth and history. It also intends to define a position vis-à-vis such discussion, defending or questioning some of the hypotheses with arguments that might contribute for the debate.
