Effect of holistic nursing interventions for patients undergoing Laser-assisted tympanostomy under otoendoscopy for secretory otitis media

【 摘 要 】

ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of holistic nursing intervention for patients undergoing Laser-assisted tympanostomy under otoendoscopy for secretory otitis media. MethodsTotally 126 (155 ears) patients with secretory otitis media were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, with 63 cases in each group. All patients were given routine care during the treatment, and those in the observation group received holistic nursing interventions. The anxiety, depression and pain degree were evaluated before and after intervention, and the intervention efficacy and patients' satisfaction with nursing were compared between two groups. ResultsThe scores of Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS), Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) on pain in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P＜0. 05). There was no significant difference in total effective rate and degree of patient satisfaction between two groups ((P＞0. 05) . ConclusionThe holistic nursing interventions are potentially effective to relieve patients' anxiety and depression, and reduce pain during laser-assisted tympanostomy under otoendoscopy for secretory otitis media.
