A Research on Reading and Public Library Use Habits of the Primary School Teachers in Ankara

【 摘 要 】

The aim of this study is to find out the characteristics of reading and public lib­rary use habits of selected primary school teachers in Ankara. Data were gathe­red through questionnaire that were filled out by 127 teachers in 16 primary scho­ols in 6 central districts in Ankara. The reading and public library use of the te­achers were evaluated in terms of elements such as age, sex, experience in teaching, primary school curriculum and professional courses. In addition, it was in­vestigated whether they had been educated about these habits in their undergra­duate education. The conclusion reached was that the teachers did not have suf­ficient reading and public library use habits because of the present education sys­tem
