【 摘 要 】

This article presents the results of the research "Characterization of the state of the art of higher educaton programs in the field of physical education, sports and related areas in four Latin American countries". The descriptive study sought to identify, classify and group institutions of formal higher education that offer programs for the training of sports coaches in Argentina, Mexico, Chile and Colombia, which allowed grouping different professional profiles in the field of physical education, sports and related areas by country in order to unveil some of the tensions and challenges faced by coaches graduated from university faculties.
