【 摘 要 】

This paper aims to present a brief history and the evolution of the alliance respectively - NATO, since its establishment wished to respect the fundamental principles such as democracy, security and defense. In a world which is in constant interdependence, it is becoming increasingly difficult to look at the security of a state as a solitary element. This is much affected in a progressive manner of international relations, globalization, which provides to the security term, a supranational dimension.
