【 摘 要 】

Nanocrystalline Ce0.6La0.4O2 was synthesized by the sol-gel citrate method. Structural and electrical characteristics were performed. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) of nanocrystalline Ce0.6La0.4O2 shows cubic phase of CeO2 with crystalline size 40 nm. The impedance analysis shows that, at lower frequency range, the conductivity of the 10 wt % Co doped Ce0.6La0.4O2 calcinated at 650 oC nearly same but with increasing frequency, the conductivity increases with temperature. The gas sensing properties for reducing gases like ammonia (NH3), liquified petroleum gas (LPG), carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrogen gas (H2) were studied. The maximum sensitivity and selectivity was obtained for 10 wt % Co doped Ce0.6La0.4O2 at an operating temperature 250 oC for NH3 gas. Pd incorporation over 10 wt% Co doped Ce0.6La0.4O2 improved the sensitivity, response time, and reduced the operating temperature from 250 to 200 oC of the sensor for ammonia gas.
